Costa Rica’s First Public Cone 10 Rocket Kiln

A Cherepos Artes Public Service Project

This project brings Costa Rica’s first public cone 10 rocket kiln into existence, designed not as a private studio asset, but as shared ceramic infrastructure accessible to artists across the country.

Led by Sterling Brown and Naomi Nishimura, the kiln will enable true high fire wood and soda firings, opening long overdue possibilities for testing local clays, developing cone 10 glazes, and supporting future generations of ceramicists.
