This course is designed to introduce students not only to wheel throwing, but also to the complete journey of local clay.
At Cherepos Artes, pottery is more than making objects.
Students will learn:
Wheel throwing
Clay preparation
Recycling systems
Drying techniques
Basic glaze chemistry
Studio maintenance
Working with local Costa Rican clay
The technical goal of this course is to build the skills necessary to successfully throw a consistent 15 cm cylinder by the end of the program.
The cylinder is not where we begin.
It is where we are going.
